Rai girls of Sikkim

Rai people are gentle
and god fearing. They offer puja to the nature during
the Sakewa festival and they dance joining their hands
in circle. People rear cows, pigs the pet animal and
plow the land.
Most of the Rai people
live in hill area. Therefore, they are now as the
offspring of Paruhang, Kirateswar of the God Shiva. They
call sumnima for Parbati and Paruhang for God Shiva.
They lit the fire on the furnace made of three stones |
